Meet Mary Gould, House Manager at LCS for Women. I was born in the Mid-West and slowly migrated west. I feel very fortunate to be a resident of beautiful San Diego county. I have a 22 year old daughter and enjoy being in nature. Early in my disease, I traveled great distances to get help for my alcoholism. I was seen by well known Doctors, a psychiatrist, and went to several treatment centers. I did not begin to heal until I was introduced to the 12 Steps of Recovery! I was Spiritually, mentally, and physically sick. I needed to take action and be responsible for my Recovery. My prior struggles with addictions are now my gifts. I can give hope and compassion to women that are struggling and need a solution.

I'm Gail Grant, a SD county native. I bought into the Peace, Love and Drugs generation hook, line and sinker! Then hard drugs and I never stopped unless I was stopped. I went to prison and rehab, but nothing helped. A month before I turned 61 my family intervened and after rehab I came to Patti's. Here I found support and love and am still here five years later. It's wonderful realizing I'm not alone. I now feel joy for the first time. I'm grateful for LCS. I'm now happy and proud to be the assistant manager... And to support these wonderful women on their journey!
Lisa Distel, House Manager, has lived in San Diego for 45 years and has two adult children. After 14 years of sobriety, she stopped working her 12 step program and decided she could probably drink again with impunity. She went in and out of recovery for 6 years. She lost everything. Most importantly she destroyed relationships with family, friends and demolished her self respect. "I've been sober a number of years now. I know the devastation my drinking caused to myself and others. I paid the consequences and now am so grateful for the wonderful sober life I GET TO lead. I now GET TO work at La Costa Solutions for Women, to absorb all of Patti's wisdom and humor and share that along with my experiences to help other women achieve solid sobriety. I am passionate about helping them receive all the blessings a clean and sober life brings!"
